CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, USA — LinkTek Corporation, the world's leading provider of software that automates the management and repair of links contained within a wide variety of popular file formats, announces the latest release of their LinkFixerPlus link maintenance and repair software. What makes this release so interesting is that it allows users to move and rename AutoCAD Architectural Desktop and Mechanical Desktop files, in large batches, without causing a single broken reference in the process. (Visit http://www.LinkTek.com).

In addition, LinkFixerPlus can now safeguard links in ADT and MDT files. (ADT and MDT files are essentially DWG files with additional types of data stored in them.) Once safeguarded, LinkFixerPlus can then be used to automatically fix previously broken references in AutoCAD, ADT and MDT files that point to external files (such as xrefs, images, fonts and other linked files) - for example, when files were renamed due to a project name change or when files were moved to a new folder, disk drive or server. LinkFixerPlus allows for the reporting, validation and automatic repathing and repair of links contained within batches of AutoCAD drawing files.

"We have two scenarios here," said Bruce Saliga, President of LinkTek. "In the ideal situation, whenever a folder reorganization or data migration is needed, the appropriate personnel would use LinkFixerPlus to move or rename all the applicable files. Using LinkFixerPlus during the move or rename process allows all the changes to be made without a single broken link. But there is also a second capability that can really save the day: What do you do if someone makes a significant number of changes to the locations or names of files without prior coordination or without using LinkFixerPlus? Well, LinkFixerPlus users can handle that too. LinkFixerPlus provides the ability to "inoculate" links within files in advance such that if they are ever moved or renamed by someone, LinkFixerPlus can easily find and automatically repair the links."

This newest release adds to LinkFixerPlus' previous ability to rename and move AutoCAD R13 through R2009 files, as well as Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, HTML, InDesign, PageMaker, Acrobat PDF and Windows shortcut files, without causing broken links.

"Our company bought five licenses of LinkFixerPlus. It was very useful in migrating our two million files of all kinds of structures. LinkFixerPlus has shown its usefulness when used with some of our smaller migrations too. " says Ben K. of HHNK in Holland.

First introduced at the 2002 Internet World convention in New York City, LinkFixerPlus won the Best of Show award in the design category. Since that time, LinkFixerPlus has been favorably mentioned in: Cadalyst Magazine, eWeek, Redmond, Windows IT Pro, CNET radio, CNNfn, PC Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Computer World and The Wall Street Journal.
